WhatsApp Launches Fast Playback Feature For Audio Messages — GripEdze
Tired of listening to lengthy voicemail messages? WhatsApp launches speed Playback function that permits you to double the speed without altering the pitch of the sender’s voice.
WhatsApp adds a new feature called “ Quick Playback” for all voicemail messages. Audio or voicemail is a popular feature of the app, especially for users who may not be tech-savvy or uncomfortable typing on their smartphones. Speed read messages will allow users to change the speed setting for playing voice messages.
According to a statement from the company, users will be able to choose between the default 1x setting, 1.5x speed, or 2x speed without changing the pitch of one’s voice. WhatsApp explains that one reason for adding this feature is because it knows that sometimes when users send a really long message, the other party may not have time to listen to it.
It also says that introducing speed reading, which speeds up messaging, will reduce the time it takes to listen to those long voicemail messages.
The feature is now available to all WhatsApp users and the latest update on Android and iOS confirms this new feature.
How to use Fast Playback messages on WhatsApp
When you receive a voicemail message, you’ll see the playback speed, which is set to 1x by default. To increase the speed by 1.5x or 2x just touch the speed. Then just press play.
We have to point out that at 2x the messages look pretty weird. Make sure you are using the latest version of WhatsApp to get the functionality.
There are two ways to record voicemail messages in WhatsApp, one is Push and Talk. Customers can press and hold the mic button to record short messages. The second mode is more useful for recording long messages using the hands-free option. Users can go to personal chat or group chat, touch the microphone icon, and swipe up to lock hands-free recording.
WhatsApp recently confirmed that they will be introducing some much-requested features including support for multiple devices, a new disappearing mode, and even an iPad app.
The multi-device function will support up to four devices. With support for multiple devices, users can run WhatsApp on up to four devices simultaneously without having to depend on the primary device.
The other confirmed feature is “disappearing mode”. The feature to make messages disappear is already available for users to apply to individual chats. With disappearing mode, users will be able to change all chats to disappearing mode where messages will be deleted automatically after a set period.
WhatsApp will also launch what is called a “view once” message. As the name suggests, once the function is activated, messages once read or viewed will disappear. Similar functionality is available on Instagram and Snapchat.
Many features of WhatsApp have started rolling out since the start of this month and there are more to come. WhatsApp has been seen working on new features in recent weeks. Some of these features are currently in development, while others are said to be in beta testing (meaning their deployment isn’t that far away). Recently, WhatsApp was seen testing the integration of Instagram Reels on the platform. There are lists of WhatsApp features that are in the works and expected to be rolled out in the coming months.

1.WhatsApp logout
WhatsApp Logout will replace the ‘delete account’ button. It will support the upcoming multi-device feature. According to a report, the app will eventually bring a sign-out option for its users. The option will allow users to sign out of their device’s WhatsApp account, just like Facebook and other social media apps. This feature was recently spotted on the all-new beta of WhatsApp and is expected to roll out quickly to the iOS and Android variants of the app. WhatsApp’s logout feature allows app users to use their accounts on multiple devices at the same time.
2. Instagram Reels on WhatsApp
WhatsApp will be rolling out the Instagram Reels section. This feature will allow users to watch Instagram reels directly from the messaging app. This could be part of a plan to integrate WhatsApp with other Facebook-owned apps. For those who don’t know, Instagram Reels is the short video feature, which was added to the image-sharing app last year after the government banned TikTok.
3. Read later
“Read Later “would be an improved version of the presently archived chat-functionality on WhatsApp. When a chat is moved to be read later, WhatsApp will not send notifications for that chat. Additionally, the feature will include a ‘vacation mode’, which will ensure that ‘read later’ threads work the same as archived threads on the current stable release. Read Later will also come with an Edit button allowing users to customize settings. WhatsApp users will also be able to choose to unarchive multiple chats at once.
4. Multi-device support
This is the much-awaited feature of WhatsApp. The multi-device support will allow users to sign in to a WhatsApp account on multiple devices simultaneously. This feature is currently in development. Currently, WhatsApp supports only two devices at a time, a phone and a desktop computer. The new multi-device support will allow users to feature up to four devices to one account. This means that once this feature is implemented, you will be able to log in from your iPad and iPhone at the same time, as well as from the desktop.
5.WhatsApp disappearing images
As for the feature of disappearing pictures, it should be similar to WhatsApp self-destruct messages in that they will be automatically deleted from the chat after a certain time. WhatsApp’s self-destructing photos feature is currently in the works and will likely roll out to Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp via a future update.
6. WhatsApp Insurance
You will soon be ready to purchase insurance through WhatsApp in India. The Facebook-owned messaging platform is set to roll out health insurance and micro-retirement products to its messaging platform in India through a partnership with licensed financial services players. As a first step, WhatsApp will sell SBI General Sachet health insurance coverage and HDFC retirement plans through its platform.
